WHAT WAS EXPO LIKE? BIGGER THAN LAST YEAR – WITH GOLONKA AND NOVÝ!

His praise warmed our hearts, even though we know there is always room to improve. For now, however, the joy of unforgettable experiences prevails – including the evening talk with Jozef Golonka. The Slovak legend told stories, joked and answered questions from the audience in the café.

The main action, however, took place in Enteria Arena. EXPO attracted more than 500 visitors, with huge quantities of cards, packs, boxes, sticks, jerseys, pucks and figures available. There was also great interest in autographs from our guests, including Peter Pucher, Josef Marha, Jan Novák, current Pardubice players and Tomáš Rolinek.

Seeing so much collecting enthusiasm in one place – a living, breathing hockey family – gave us enormous energy for what comes next. The entire MK Cards team was equally inspired by the fact that CZK 36,000 was raised for a good cause: little Sofinka, who is fighting the most severe form of spinal muscular atrophy. The moment when she and her parents came “onto the ice” and Jozef Golonka thanked everyone who contributed was one of the most powerful moments of this year’s EXPO.

The Slovak legend praised both the atmosphere and our approach. “You’re great guys,” he repeated several times during the day. But he was the truly great one – and we would like to thank him once again. He drove to Pardubice himself in an old Mercedes without navigation and brought, along with his latest book, an incredible sense of good humour. Sitting behind the plexiglass a short distance from Milan Nový and signing for a long line of fans, he regularly entertained people with jokes and comments.

It was an honour to welcome personalities of this calibre to EXPO and raise the bar once again. Thank you to everyone who came to Enteria Arena, enjoyed the day with us and perhaps also supported Sofinka. And to everyone else: we look forward to seeing you at the next edition!
