RADOVAN PAVLÍK? KEEP AN EYE ON HIM!

While the NHL is raving about David Pastrňák, who has already recorded 11 points – eight goals and three assists – in the first seven games of the 2018/19 season, another rocket is gradually taking off in the Czech league: Hradec Králové product Radovan Pavlík. Keep an eye on this player. In his first nine games of the season he recorded nine points, with four goals and five assists – and the goals were both important and impressive. At 20 years old, he already had a U20 World Championship in Buffalo behind him, where he played seven games with an excellent 3+3 record. He is developing rapidly, playing with confidence and clearly enjoying his hockey. Pavlas can become – and I believe will become – a genuine trump card for Hradec. His skating is excellent, he is fast with the puck, useful on the penalty kill and capable of breaking away to score shorthanded. He is also an extremely hard worker who never lets opposing defencemen relax. What he lacks in height he makes up for with competitiveness. In short, he is a modern offensive forward – the kind every coach can use.

For me, he is definitely a player to follow and someone whose cards I would start collecting early. A genuine “HOT Prospect” in the Czech league who, if he maintains his current form through the season, could even challenge for a place at the World Championship in Bratislava. Coach Říha already selected him for the Czech national team’s first preparation camp in Prostějov. Will further tournament invitations follow?
