HOBBY BOX OR RETAIL BOX?

As you probably know, for last season’s Czech national team series we released two different product formats: Retail boxes and Hobby boxes. What is the difference between them, and who are they primarily intended for? We will explain it here, starting with the first format – a proven classic familiar from earlier years.

2017/18 CIHT Hockey Cards – Retail Box

To offer new collectors, boys and girls an attractive product with an element of surprise right to the very end, we created Retail boxes. As the name suggests, they are designed for retail sale and are sold either as individual packs or complete boxes. Each full-colour foil pack, featuring Martin Nečas and Pavel Francouz, contains six fresh trading cards. The base set includes 54 different Czech national team players, and every second pack contains a special card. It might be a Gold /25 or Gold Rainbow /5 parallel, a rainbow Last Champions 2010 insert, a plastic VIP Pass, or even an authentic autograph from one of 43 national team players, numbered as low as /20 or /10. This really is a strong series!

2017/18 CIHT Hockey Cards – Hobby Box

For passionate collectors and connoisseurs, we added Hobby boxes to this year’s release. These are not sold as individual packs – only as complete boxes. Each box contains 43 cards housed in a special foam insert. To make the packaging more attractive, we prepared three different cover versions featuring Martin Nečas, Filip Zadina or Pavel Francouz. In addition to the cards mentioned above, Hobby boxes also contain two special hand-made card series. The first are Teammates cards, each featuring two players connected by a particular synergy. These cards contain an original embroidered Czech national team logo patch and are numbered /50 on the back. The second series found exclusively in Hobby boxes is Game Used Memorabilia featuring a hand-inserted piece of game-used equipment from the player – a jersey, glove or, in many cases, a hockey stick. Pull one of these cards and you are literally holding a piece of hockey history. The cards are limited to /25 copies. Do not wait – the number of boxes is limited.
